ACSM-NES General Meeting ACSM-NES general autumn meeting followed by a "Emerging Technologies in Surveying & Mapping" 4-hour Intermediate Workshop presented by Claire Keidrowski, ASPRS-certified photogrammetrist and small business owner (KAPPA Mapping, Maine). Emerging Technologies in Surveying & Mapping This workshop provides an overview of the emerging technologies that impact the surveying and mapping profession. The advance towards full digital mapping from start to finish, and the capacity to capture very large amounts of data supported by rapid processing and software will alter the way maps are produced in the near future. At the same time, active sensors, hand-held data collection devices, and feature extraction are changing fundamental mapping procedures and the way data is supplied to GIS. Participants will receive an overview of the systems, technologies, and impacts on mapping in the next 2-3 years. Claire Kiedrowski is an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist and President of KAPPA Mapping, Inc. located in Bangor, Maine. She is a member of the Surveying Engineering Technology Industrial Advisory Committee and has taught a number of workshops on Emerging Technologies in Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry Review, and ASPRS Certfication. Claire graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Surveying Engineering. She has worked for ESRI, Intergraph, James W. Sewall Company, and Boeing. Workshop Cost: Registration: |
